A teacher by profession, my favourite years were those spent in Special Education, where Yoga was extremely beneficial to help address educational as well as personal challenges for the children. I was one of the authors of a national programme for schools for Special Olympics Ireland.  I have always been interested in all forms of movement and studied with Dublin city ballet as well as dancing in many musicals. For the past ten years I have been writing courses and  lecturing in Physical Education with  third level teacher training colleges.  I also spent six years as one of the national coordinators for physical education in Ireland and co wrote lessons which are being used in all primary schoolsl

Reach your full potential

I was very  fortunate to train as a Yoga teacher under Swami Sajamurti in the Bihar School of Yoga. My attitudes to the teaching of Yoga were largely shaped by his down to earth approach, but also by many other training courses in Yoga therapy, Yoga for healthy backs  and Vinyasana. Having studied many different forms of Yoga, I now offer my own style, which puts people before postures (stretches). I believe Yoga is for everyone regardless of age, levels of fitness or challenges. My aim is to show people how to work without straining or forcing the body past its own limitations, yet encouraging everyone to reach their full potential.

  • how to work and relax at the same time
  • how to listen to your body and treat yourself with gentleness and patience, as you  would treat a best friend
  • how to use the power of the *breath to calm the mind and emotions, to heal and to  relax
  • how we can incorporate what we learn in class into our daily lives
  • relaxation techniques

Your Yoga class should be something you look forward to, knowing the benefits it brings ­  physically, mentally and emotionally.  It is your time ­ -  no one demanding anything of you  and no one judging you in any way.
